Question
But what are the other condition/ruling like removing hairs above the jaw bone and under it, what is the minimum the beard can be kept, and what is recommended?
Answer
'For Muslim males to grow a beard is Waajib (compulsory), and to let it grow a fist length is Waajib. Without any Sharée reason to cut or shave is Haraam (totally prohibited). He who does so is a Faasiq (sinner) and to shorten it less than a fist length is Makruh Tahrimi (near Haraam).' Dari Aur Ambiyaa Ki Sunnate, Mufti Saeed Palanpuri.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Darul Iftaa Mahmudiyyah (AskImam). It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
