What should happen to a rapist?

Question

If someone has raped someone in your family and the land of the law has cleared him of any wrong doing. But you are 100% sure that he was the person who raped the member of your family. What does Islam says to do to that person (rapist).

Answer

Since you are living in a non-Islamic stage, there is nothing you can do by way of retribution. You are not allowed to take the law into your own hands.

We are sure that this incident had deeply hurt you but you will have to take up courage and adopt Sabr. Ponder much about the day of Qiyaamat whis is the only day on which true justice will be done. One of the very purposes why Allah Ta'ala has destined this day is that the nature of this world is such that there will always be injustice in the world. If there is no Qiyaamat, it will then follow that all those who had oppressed others have escaped scott free. On that day, Allah Ta'ala will extract stern retribution from all oppressors.

Hand this affair over to Allah Ta'ala's court and carry on with your life. If you do not adopt this attitude of Tafweez (handing this affair over to Allah Ta'ala), you will not find peace of mind.

May Allah Ta'ala guide us all, Aameen.

and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best
