Are tattoos permissible?

brother i want to ask u .is it alright to make a too on ur body. only a design not some image in it .or a name...
can u kindly enlight me on this

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.
It is impermissible to get a tattoo made be it of animate objects, inanimate objects or designs.
The Prophet sallallahualayhiwasallam is reported to have said:
Translation: “Allah has cursed anyone who joins hair together and the person to whose hair it is joinedand those who make tattoos and those on whose bodies’ tattoos are made.”
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الوَاصِلَةَ وَالمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ، وَالوَاشِمَةَ وَالمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ[1]
