Question

Can we do fasting or nafal and other deeds for a living person and intend to reward it to him.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is permissible to convey the reward (isaal-e-thawaab) of a fardh (compulsory) or nafl (optional) deed to the living.[1]
