Can Muslims accept donations from the Kuffar for an Islamic Cause?
Question
Is it acceptable by shariah that muslims accept donations from non-muslims to use in Islamic Cause?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Voluntary donations made by non-Muslims for Islamic causes are valid.[1] However, if there is fear that accepting donations from non-Muslims will be detrimental for whatever reason, then such donations should be avoided.[2]

[1] واما هبة الكافر للمسلم فجائزة ايضا سواء كانت في دار الاسلام او في دار الكفر وحكم الصدقة كحكم الهبة فيما ذكرنا الا انه لا رجوع فيها على حال لانها خرجت على وجه القربة والمثوبة وطلب رضوان الله (النتف ج1 ص519 موسسة الرسالة)
(ويجوز أن يوصي المسلم للكافر) أي الذمي (والكافر للمسلم)، لأنهم بعقد الذمة ساووا المسلمين في المعاملات، ولهذا جاز التبرع من الجانبين في حالة الحياة، فكذا في حالة الممات، هداية.(اللباب ج5 ص368 دار السراج)
ووصية الذمى ان كانت من جنس المعاملات فهى صحيحة بالاجماع...ولو ان ذميا أوصى بان يشترى بثلث ماله رقابا و تعتق عنه باعيانهم أو بغير أعيانهم أو أوصى بان يتصدق بثلث ماله على الفقراء و المساكين أو ان يسرج به فى بيت المقدس أو يبنى فيها أو يغزى به الترك أو الديلم و الموصى من النصارى فالوصية صحيحة (هندية ج6 ص136 رشيدية)
