Is it permissible to deal in fake products?

Respected Mufti Sahab, As-Salaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahui Wa Barakatuhu A company dealing in electronic items and are wholesalers in the said business. Is it permissible for them to purchase a panasonic phone product from China with labelled as ?made in Japan? and with same packing and look. If a dealer while selling to customer inform him about the reality. Income earned through such deals is Halal? If not, what will be the position of staffs working with such company. Jazak Allah & Was Salaam.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'Whosoever deceives is not from among us.' (Tirmidhi)
In view of the above Hadith, it is prohibited to deceive customers by misrepresenting the make of the product. However, if the customer is informed, then it will be permissible.
