Can I cover the medical expenses of poor Muslims with interest money?
Question
Can we Give Bank Intrest Amount to Muslim Poor and needy. Can we give bank intrest money for musilm poor hospital bill, who can affort medical expance.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Interest accrued from a bank may be disposed of by giving it to a poor and needy Muslim.[1] The recipient of the interest money may use the money as he/she wishes. This may include paying his/her hospital medical bills.
