Diluted Zam Zam
Question
Is it permissible to dilute ZamZam with regular water? Does the diluted ZamZam carry the same merit/effect as pure ZamZam? Can I dilute ZamZam and give away as a gift saying that it is ZamZam without disclosing that it is diluted?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible to dilute zam zam water with normal water. The blessings of zam zam water will still be achieved. One may offer diluted zam zam as a gift without disclosing that it is diluted.

ولو حلف على ماء من ماء زمزم لا يشرب منه شيئا فصب عليه ماء من غيره كثيرا حتى صار مغلوبا فشربه يحنث لما ذكرنا من أصله أن الشيء لا يصير مستهلكا بجنسه.
عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم خير ماء على وجه الأرض ماء زمزم فيه طعام الطعم وشفاء السقم
