Does fellatio and cunnilingus necessitate ghusl?
Question
Salaam. My friend was wondering, if someone does fellatio and cunnilingus does he have to do ghusl, because he did not release semen?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, ghusl is only necessary if vaginal or anal penetration takes place.[i] Non-vaginal and non-anal intercourse will not necessitate ghusl, unless one ejaculates. Accordingly, fellatio and cunnilingus will not necessitate ghusl unless one ejaculates. In this scenario ghusl will only be necessary for the one who ejaculated.[ii]
