Superstitions regarding looking into the mirror
Question
Is it true if there is a mirror in the bedroom and the husband and wife can be seen in the mirror it creates conflicts between the couples?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.
This is merely a superstition and has no basis in shari’ah. The sunnah is to read the following du’ā when looking into the mirror: [i]
Translation: O Allah You have made my outer appearance perfect, so make my moral characteristics also perfect.”
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
