i am a little confused, as to who is Mufti Mehmood-ul-Hassan Gangohi (r.h), is he one of the founders of Deoband or the earlier scholars of Deoband? Did he compile Fatawa Mehmoodiya?

aslamu-alaikum respected mufti sahab..i am a little confused, as to who is Mufti Mehmood-ul-Hassan Gangohi (r.h), is he one of the founders of Deoband or the earlier scholars of Deoband? Did he compile Fatawa Mehmoodiya? who is the other 'Mufti Mehmood (r.h)' (Father of Maulana Fazlur Rahman) who debated with Qadiani scholars in the 1970's in the assembly and enforced Shariah in N.W.F.P (Pakistan) when he was made Cheif Minister? are they both the same person(s)? Who is your teacher as u have mentioned....do u know any good book (in english) which contains their biographies and other great Ulama of Deoband?

There are two Mufti Mahmoods (RA).
One Moulana Fazlur Rahmaan's father. The other was Mufti A'zam of India, who passed away in South Africa. He was my teacher and Shaykh. Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah is a compilation of his Fataawas.
