Fidyah For The Missed Salaah Of A Person Who Was Mentally Incapacitated Prior To Their Demise
Question
For the last four years of the life, the mental state of a lady was such the she could not differentiate between days or times and she could not remember anything.
Will it be necessary to anything for her missed Salaah?
Answer
If a woman is in such a mental state that she cannot differentiate between days or times and cannot remember anything, then according to Shari’ah, she will not be bound by laws of worship. In such a state Salaah will not be necessary upon her; hence no Fidyah for it has to be paid.
