Question

اسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Respected Mufti Saheb

Sometimes after cracking an egg there are brown or red spots visible in the egg, is it permissible to use the egg?

What would happen to a boiled egg when you can’t see whether there are any spots?

Answer

In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The brown or red spots you refer to is blood.

If it is only a spot of red or brown, it would be permissible to consume, though it would be better to remove the spot first.

However, if the egg has more than just a spot of blood or the egg has become bloody, it would be impermissible to consume.

In the case of a boiled egg the same rulings would apply.

And Allāh Taʿālā knows best.
