Breaking one's fast due to illness

English
Ramadhaan & FastingFactors that allow one to invalidate the fast

Question

I am able to fast though I am not in good health. Lately I am suffering from bouts of fever for no apparent reason. I know that fever means that I have to break my fast. If I develop fear say an hour before Ifthaar, how long can I postpone Ifthaar and how close to Ifthaar can I break my fast so that my fast would still be valid for the day?

Answer

If you can manage to keep the fast till iftaar, then you should do so. If you cannot manage to keep the fast, it will be permissible for you to break the fast. However, you will have to keep qadha for the fast you have broken.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
