Keeping the names Aatikah, Hamnah and Safrah
Question
We have shortlisted the following names for baby girl. Please advise which of these should we choose and if the spelling is correct?
Aatikah
Hamnah
Safrah
Is it advisable to prevent using Hamnah as Hamnah bint Jash slandered Aaisha (radhiyallahu anha) in the past?
Answer
We have come across the names Aatikah and Hamnah being the names of two Sahabiyaat. We have not come across the name Safrah.
She made tawbah and was forgiven by Allah Ta'ala. Hence, there is no problem in naming the child after her.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
