Performing nikaah on a Friday
Question
Is it Sunnah to perform nikaah in the Musjid on a Friday after the Jumu'ah Salaah or after the Asr Salaah?
Answer
Performing the nikaah on a Friday is not a separate Sunnah. The nikaah can be performed on any day. The Hadith has emphasized that the nikaah be publicized (e.g. through performing the nikaah in the Musjid after a Fardh Salaah before the congregation). Since people congregate in the Musjid on a Friday, the fuqaha have stated that performing the nikaah in the Musjid on a Friday is mustahab. Hence, the nikaah can be performed after the Jumu'ah Salaah or after the Asr Salaah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

عن عائشة قالت : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم أعلنوا هذا النكاح واجعلوه في المساجد واضربوا عليه بالدفوف (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: 1089)
ويندب إعلانه وتقديم خطبة وكونه في مسجد يوم جمعة بعاقد رشيد وشهود عدول والاستدانة له والنظر إليها قبله وكونها دونه سنا وحسبا وعزا ومالا وفوقه خلقا وأدباوورعا وجمالا.(الدر المختار 3/8)
ويستحب مباشرة عقد النكاح في المسجد لأنه عبادة، وكونه في يوم الجمعة.(فتح القدير 3/189)
وأشار المصنف بكونه سنة أو واجبا إلى استحباب مباشرة عقد النكاح في المسجد لكونه عبادة وصرحوا باستحبابه يوم الجمعة.(البحر الرائق 3/86)
ذهب جمهور العلماء إلى استحباب مباشرة عقد النكاح في المسجد، وفي يوم الجمعة للتبرك بهما، فقد قال الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم: أعلنوا هذا النكاح، واجعلوه في المساجد، واضربوا عليه بالدفوف.(الموسوعة الفقهية الكويتية 10/75)
