Burning people as a punishment
Question
According to ISIS, burning someone to punish him is permissible. They quote the scholar Ibn Hajar that it is permissible to burn. The Prophet branded two men from Uraynah with a branding iron. Is this authentic?
Answer
There is a hadeeth in Abu Dawood where we are commanded not to burn anybody.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
