Proposal From An Open Sinner

English
Nikaah

Question

I received a proposal from a Haafidh who doesn’t keep a Sunnah beard and wears his pants below his ankles. The references I received about him were good, i.e. that he has good Akhlaaq, keeps good company, etc.

Regarding his family, I am unsure if they insure their belongings or finance their vehicles. If they do, should I consider the proposal or turn it down?

Answer

A person who trims his beard and wears his pants below his ankles is a Faasiq (an open sinner). Hence, such a person will not be compatible to a woman who is pious and Deeni inclined.

You should rather opt for a person who is Deeni inclined externally and internally, and has good Akhlaaq.

ALLAH TA’ALA ALONE IN HIS INFINITE KNOWLEDGE KNOWS!
