Founded by Mufti Mohamed Desai, a Darul Uloom Azaadville graduate who served in Ifta for 10+ years under Mufti Muhammad Saeed Motara. After his death (10 Sept 2024) it closed temporarily and reopened on 9 April 2025 under Mufti Yacoob Vally, his former teacher. Services: rulings, islah, business/partnership disputes, arbitration, Shariah estate winding-up, inheritance certificates, wills, zakat calculations; also runs Ifta courses. Replies within ~5 days.

  Graduate of Darul Uloom Azaadville who served in the field of Ifta for over ten years under Mufti Muhammad Saeed Motara and spent many years in the company of Moulana Abdul Hamid Ishaq (Khalifa of Hakim Akhtar). Founded Darul Ifta Ibn Masood in Pietermaritzburg; died suddenly on 6 Rabi al-Awwal 1446 / 10 September 2024.

  Current supervising mufti (since April 2025); founder of Darul Uloom Miftahul Falaah, Oslo Beach

  Teacher of Mufti Mohamed Desai, under whose auspices the Darul Ifta recommenced in April 2025. Founded Darul Uloom Miftahul Falaah in Oslo Beach, Port Shepstone, in 1997 (hifz, Alim, Qira'at Sab'ah and Iftaa specialisation, with its own Darul Iftaa) and sits on the Jamiatul Ulama KZN executive (Port Shepstone).
