Discharging Zakaah In Advance
Question
Is it permissible to discharge one’s Zakaah 3 years in advance? If yes, what would the procedure entail?
Answer
Yes, it is permissible to discharge Zakaah in advance. However, it is imperative that you should keep a record of how much Zakaah you have discharged. Thereafter, on your Zakaah date, you should calculate how much is the actual Zakaah amount due for that particular year. You will then ascertain whether you have discharged more or less than the actual amount that is due. If it is less, then the difference must be discharged, and if it is more, then you may carry forward the Zakaah for the next year/s.
