Jamiatul Ulama KZN

The KwaZulu-Natal Council of Muslim Theologians (jamiat.org.za), a body separate from Jamiatul Ulama South Africa. Founded 1955 as Jamiatul Ulama Natal by Moulana Abdur Rahmaan Ansari, Moulana Cassim Sema, Moulana Abdul Haq Omarjee and others; past presidents include Moulana Yunus Patel and Mufti Ebrahim Salejee. Its fatwa department publishes Q&A alongside mediation, marriage annulments, hilaal coordination, welfare and maktab work. Some published answers are reposts from other Darul Iftas, credited where signed.

Founded: 15 January 1955 (as Jamiatul Ulama Natal, at East Street Madrasah, Pietermaritzburg)
