My friend is a widow for six years in a prominent community in south africa. We, as friends are advising her to get married as we are aware how vulnerable a young widow in todays community is.
Question
She refuses saying she has no "desires" and does not wish to re-marry. Can a woman who has been widowed for 6.5 years have no deisres ???
Answer
1)She is at liberty to make her own decision about marriage. Respect her decision especially she says she has no desire to remarry. 2)It is possible not to have any desire. Perhaps she has some personal reason to abstain from remarrying. You may advise her but do not compel her. and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best
