Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Translation: “Whoever keeps a dog, a qiraat will be deducted from his good deeds every day, unless the dog is kept for farming needs or it is a sheepdog.” Ibn Seereen and Abu Salih narrate from Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu anhu, who narrated from the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, “Except sheepdogs, dogs kept for farming needs or hunting dogs.” Abu Hazim narrates from Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu anhu, who narrates from the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, “a hunting dog or a sheepdog dog.”
Translation: “Whoever keeps a dog which is not for farming needs, a qiraat will be deducted from his good deeds every day.”
Translation: It has been reported from Ibn Umar, radiyallahu anhuma that the Prophet, sallalahu alayhi wa sallam gave an order that all the dogs be killed, so the news spread all over Madinah that they should be killed.
Translation: the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “were it not for the fact that the dogs are a nation from amongst the nations, I would have ordered for them to be killed, so kill from them all the black ones.”
Translation: Aisha, radiyalahu anha, narrates that Jibreel, alayhi asalaam, promised the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to come to him at a specific time. That time passed but Jibreel, alayhi assalaam still had not come, so the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam went outside and saw Jibreel, alayhi assalaam standing in front of the door. The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked Jibreel, alayhi assalaam, “what prevented you from entering the house?” Jibreel, alayhi assalaam replied, “there was a dog in the house, and we do not enter houses in which there are dogs and pictures.” So the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordered that the dog should be taken out and then ordered that the dogs should be killed.”
Translation: The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordered the killing of the dogs and then said, “what do I have to with dogs?” then he made an exception in the hunting dog and another type of dog which Saad forgot.
Translation: The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “Whoever keeps a dog, a qiraat will be deducted from his good deeds every day.”
Translation: Ibn Umar, radiyallahu anhu said: I heard the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam saying, “Whoever keeps a dog, with the exception of a hunting dog and a sheepdog, two qiraats will be deducted from his good deeds every day.”
Translation: “Saalim Ibn Abdullah narrates from his father who narrates that he heard the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordering the killing of the dogs in a raised voice, and all the dogs were being killed except the hunting dogs and the sheepdogs.
Translation: Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu anhu, narrates that the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “Whoever keeps a dog, with the exception of a hunting dog, a sheepdog and a security dog, two qiraats will be deducted from his good deeds every day.”
Translation: The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned dogs and said, ““Whoever keeps a dog, with the exception of a hunting dog and a sheepdog, one qiraat will be deducted from his good deeds every day.”
Translation: The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prevented us from keeping dogs and said, “no one should keep a dog except a hunter, a scared person or a person with livestock.”
Translation: The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “Whoever keeps a dog, with the exception of a sheepdog and a hunting dog, two qiraats will be deducted from his good deeds every day.”
