Can one cut their nails or hair in the state of Janabah or Haidh?
Question
Assalamu Alikum, is it permissible to cut ones hair or nails in the state of Janabah? Also when a woman is in Haidh?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is Makrooh for one to trim their nails and hair in the state of Janabah. It is permissible for a woman in the state of Haidh to trim her nails and hair when it becomes long. [1]

فقہاء کرام کی تصریحات کی روشنی میں مرد و عورت کے لیے جنابت کی حالت میں ناخن اور بال کاٹنا مکروہ ہے ...اسی فرق کی بنا پر حیض و نفاس والی عورتوں کے ناخن یا زیر ناف بال اگر بڑہ چکے ہوں تو ان کو کاٹنا بلا کراہت جائز معلوم ہو تا ہے ۔
