Answer
1. Both are correct. However, according to Imaam Abu Hanifa (RA), it is best to perform Nawaafil in sets of four Rakaats each. This applies both to the night and day time.
2. You may perform 2 or 4 Rakaats of Ishraaq. Both are correct and established from the Ahaadith.
