What the Darul Iftas say
“A1) One should refrain from making Tilaawat by the deceased before Ghusl is executed due to the deceased being in a state of Najaasat (due to death). A2) If one is not in the same room as the deceased, then one may make Tilaawat of the Quraan Majeed.”
“The type of cloth a male and female is allowed to wear during their lifetime, is allowed as their kafan after their demise. It is desirable that the kafan be of medium quality and according to the height of the deceased.”
“It is not permissible for the husband to wash the body of his deceased wife.”
“It is not necessary for the person who has bathed the deceased to perform ghusl afterwards. However, it is recommended (mustahab) for him to do so. It is also better for him to change his clothes, but if the clothes are free from impurity (Najaasah), changing them is not required.”
