Question

Assalāmualaikum Wa Rahmatullah.

I would like to know the ruling for the following:

Is Azizia part of Mecca Mukarramah? If a person is going to be in Mecca Sharīf and Azizia for more than 14 nights, will he be made a Musāfir?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The Darul Iftaa is of the view that Azizia is not part of Makkah Mukarramah. If one intends to reside in Makkah Mukarramah for fifteen days, he will be a Muqīm. [1] However if one intends to take up residence in Makkah and Azizia jointly for fifteen days, then he will be considered a Musāfir.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
