Step-by-step guide

Hajj guide — tamattu‘ hajj day by day

The order follows the Hajj booklet published with an AskImam answer (Mufti Ebrahim Desai), with Mufti Online’s answer on tamattu‘ hajj. Where another fatwa in the archive adds a Hanafi condition, it is noted under the step.

Based on the fatawa linked below. Please read the sources and double-check with a Darul Ifta for your situation.

Consult a mufti for your situation. Fatawa SA is a read-only archive and issues no rulings of its own.

Before the days of hajj

  1. Umrah first

For tamattu‘, tie the ihraam at the meeqaat with the intention of umrah, perform the umrah, shave or trim, and come out of ihraam until the days of hajj.
