Can weak (da'eef) ahaadith be acted upon?

“This Hadith has been declared as mowdhoo (a fabricated Hadith) by the great Muhadditheen on account of two problematic narrators being found in the chain of narrators, Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Aamir Taai, and his father, Ahmad bin Aamir Taai.”

“We are unable to locate the chain of narration for the exact text in reference. However, we have located the same incident with following texts: There is a discussion amongst the scholars on the authenticity of that portion of the narration.”

“The Hadeeth is not suitable for narration. Allamah Ibn Al-Jawzi and Allamah Suyooti Rahimahullah have included this Hadeeth in their compilations of fabricated Ahadeeth.”

“This story is fabricated. Ḥāfiẓ Jawraqānī (d. 543/1148) and Ḥāfiẓ Ibn al-Jawzī (d. 597/1201) have transmitted the various short and detailed versions of this story with their chains and concluded that the various versions of the story are all a fabrication forged by the story tellers.”
