What the Darul Iftas say
“It is permissible to conduct Seerah programmes in the month of Rabiul Awwal on condition there are no innovations or any un-Islamic practices in such programs.”
“The reason is that meeladun nabi is restricted to a special occasion and people regard it as necessary on that occasion. Apart from this, this has resemblance with Christianity where they celebrate the birth and demise of Nabi Isa (alaihis salaam).”
“We have not come across a Hadith in which it is mentioned that the fire of Hell is Haraam upon the first person who gives the news about Rabi’ul Awwal.”
