What is qunoot and when is it read?

“If the Muqtadis (followers) have memorized the Qunoot-e-Naazilah, then both the Imaam and the Muqtadis may recite the Qunoot softly in their individual capacity. This is the view of the author of ‘Muheet’ and majority of the scholars.”

“You state that you forgetfully missed the Du’aa e Qunoot in the Witr Salaah. In such an instance, Sajda Sahw is necessary. Since you have performed Sajda Sahw, your Witr Salaah is valid.”

“He will not recite the Dua-e-qunoot when making up for the missed rakaats. Since he joined the Imaam in the ruku of the third rakaat, it will be considered as though he had recited the qunoot since he got the third rakaat, even though he did not recite the qunoot.”

“If a Hanafi Imaam reads Qunoot Naazilah, a Hanafi Muqtadi may say Aameen softly.”
