Where should the hands be placed in salaah?

“Fundamentally, raising the hands in Dua is considered a Mustahab action, as indicated in many narrations. The following is recorded in Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud Sharif:”

“In the above mentioned case, the Janaazah Salaah is valid and there is no need to repeat it. However, it is against the Sunnah and it is a minor Makrooh (disliked act), because according to the Ahnaaf after the first Takbeer raising both hands on the other three Takbeers is not Sunnat. There is a narration in Sunan Daar Qutni:”

“1) We appreciate your question and understand your sentiments. Nevertheless, it should be noted, folding the hands in Qunoot is Sunnah and thus more beloved to Allah Ta'ala. Therefore, when supplicating in Witr you should rather attempt to supplicate in a manner/position that is most beloved to Him.”

“The Hanafis have sufficient and authentic proofs from the Ahaadith for not raising the hands before and after ruku' as well as for tying the hands beneath the navel in the position of qiyaam. Refer to I'laaus Sunan, Aathaar-us-Sunan and Musannaf ibn Abi Shaibah to view the proofs of the Hanafi Mazhab.”
